Scheherazade Jewelers’ store events this month will make Mother’s Day gift giving a slam dunk success, starting with a Roberto Demeglio trunk show from April 18 to 19. The Pura and Diva Collections, two new collections from the Italian jewelry designer, will take center stage during the weekend trunk show.
The transformative qualities Roberto Demeglio possesses that have changed his family’s tradition of jewelry making can also be observed in ways the Italian designer reinvents his jewelry collections.
Roberto Demeglio’s new Diva Collection is a natural extension of the designer’s Harlequin Collection launched last year. Similar to the Harlequin Collection, diamond shapes define the geometric look of the new Diva Collection. Some subtle differences between the two collections include going from alternating black and white ceramic tiles to alternating ceramic to diamond-set tiles.
The Diva Collection (including diamond-shaped statement cuffs, rings and earrings) bring together diamond-shaped black and white ceramic tiles, accented with natural and color enhanced diamonds.
One of the bolder looks from the Diva Collection is black ceramic tiles set with black diamonds. Much like the Pura Collection, thinner lighter weight ceramic tiles are part of the Diva Collection. Now women can wear statement-making jewelry with the statement-making weight. Much like the Pura Collection, Diva jewelry lends itself nicely to the stacking trend as well as mixing and matching and can go from work to play seamlessly.
Collections Then and Now
Pura is another new collection for 2014. Based on designs from Roberto’s Giotto Collection introduced in 2009, the Pura Collection jewelry has similarly sized links. A key difference is the links from Giotto Collection are diamond-set while the Pura Collection links are ceramic with diamond accents.
Pura Collection jewelry features 18-karat gold (available in white, yellow and rose gold) with ceramic links set with diamonds (both white and black). These links in the Pura Collection, however, are design elements set alongside mainly ceramic links in matte and shiny surfaces.
The Pura Collection is pure and simple jewelry in streamlined designs that are lighter as compared to the Giotto Collection. The understated elegance of the Pura Collection makes this line ideal for everyday wear and elegant evening events. Pura Collection jewelry has a lower profile, and has lighter and thinner ceramic links making bangles from the new line ideal for stacking – an unstoppable trend in jewelry fashion.

A Brief History
Roberto Demeglio is a third generation jewelry designer. Like many members of a generational business, Roberto wanted to define his approach to designing and creating jewelry in ways that would take his family’s rich history in a completely new creative direction. In 1984, Roberto adapted new technologies for a new era using the latest materials available such as meshed metals, carbon fiber, ceramic tiles and stainless steel coils to create geometric jewelry designs that are the epitome of fashion-forward accessories.
Available in the US for two years, Scheherazade Jewelers is one of only 100 select jewelry stores in the country carrying this incredibly luxurious ceramic jewelry that features 18-karat gold set with black and white diamonds. Since Roberto Demeglio’s arrival in the US, the Italian designer’s Domino Collection – with its signature ceramic tiles and diamond-accented gold squares – has taken the American market by storm. Coverage in leading trade magazines in the fashion as well as the gemstone and jewelry industries, and numerous consumer reads, has resulted in an incredible sales response to Roberto Demeglio’s signature geometric-inspired black and white ceramic jewelry.
